Yogurt for babies
Why yogurt is great for babies
Protein, calcium, and probiotics. Choose plain whole-milk yogurt — flavored ones are sugar bombs.
How to serve at 6–8 months
Plain whole-milk yogurt on a preloaded spoon, or let baby dive in with hands (embrace the mess). Stir in mashed fruit.
How to serve at 9–11 months
Spoon practice with thick yogurt; use as a dip for fruit and toast.
How to serve at 12+ months
Yogurt with fruit, in smoothies, as a dip base.
Allergen note
Yogurt counts as a milk exposure — one of the 9 common allergens. Current pediatric guidance favors introducing allergens early (around 6 months), one at a time, and keeping them in the diet regularly once tolerated.
